BBNaija TBoss: I’m Not A Witch

Taking time off her schedule, Tokunbo Idowu, aka T-Boss, 2nd-runner of Big Brother Naija reality show who generated so much buzz and controversy, speaks to The Nation's Joe Agbro Jr. about her experience and relationships in the house and other issues.

Two months in the Big Brother Naija house. How does it feel being outside?
Actually, it was almost three months. It feels amazing. It’s still very unreal and the love I’ve been getting so far is absolutely humbling. I mean, people came to wait for me, receive me at the airport and they were wearing my face on their T-shirts. And it was so… these people love me and waited there for me. It was really humbling. It’s been very good so far.

A lot of people were rooting for you. And on the last day, while you were dressing, you wore a crown. How did it feel that you didn’t emerge winner?

I really appreciate the efforts they put in. I’ve heard some of the supports… I appreciate and I say to them all, thanks. I did not get the grand prize but I am a winner. I am absolutely a winner and I am an absolute queen. I went there as Tokunbo Idowu, just a simple girl, but right now I’m a queen. And that crown, that’s my crown, it’s befitting of how I feel right now. So, Efe is the grand prize winner but I’m also a winner. Bisola is a winner, everybody is a winner. So, I don’t feel bad at all.

You made it to the top three despite several challenges. Before going into the house, did you have a strategy to win, to get votes?

Absolutely not. Before I went into the house, I did a little bit of research with the limited time I had…to go through some previous winners and see, maybe, what it is they did that made them likable, what strategy they applied.

Just before I went into the house, I’m like, ‘abeg, it’s too much for me, I cannot.’ The only thing I know how to do is to be myself. I will be nice. I will get angry. I will scream. I will cry. I will laugh. I just went in there and I was myself. That was my only strategy…..who loved me loves me, who hates me… I have seen some of the comments and it’s sad.

Now that you’ve come out and you’ve seen the comments. Which of those comments have pained you the most?
None.

You also received the most nominations for eviction from fellow housemates. How do you feel towards them for getting that title of being the most nominated housemate for eviction?

It was a game. People need to understand that it was a game. Everyone went in there fighting for themselves to get that prize money. It was a game. But truth of the matter is, being enclosed with people, you’re forced to live with them, cry with them, laugh, eat, shout with them, fight with them, doing our tasks, you start bonding with them and you start liking them.

Okay, every week it changes. Today, I like you, tomorrow, I don’t like you too much. It happens. Husband and wife, they fight every day. But I don’t have any bad energy or bad feelings towards any of them. They did what they felt they should do under the circumstances. And it’s fine. I love them all. They’re all talented, crazy people but I love them all.

Of the housemates, who is your favourite?

I don’t have favourites per se. but the person that I would say I really connected with and really bonded the most with would be Debie-Rise because she stayed to the end with me. But off and on, I like everyone.

Could boredom have been responsible for some of the crazy moments in the house?
What is crazy moment in your opinion?

Like the moments when you exposed your breasts, about twice… were they intentional?
I was showering. Did I come to the living room? Where did I expose my breasts?

The first time, you were in the dressing room and you took off your top.
So, I was in the bathroom…

You were not in the bathroom.
I was in the private area. Was I in the lounge?

You were in a place that was being recorded. There were videos capturing those moments...
I actually saw videos of us in the bathroom but not shower hour.

There were two instances that the internet has captured that you took off your top. Weren’t you aware of what you were doing then?

See, the Big Brother house is a place where you showcase yourself. You’re free to be T-Boss. Whoever T-Boss is, you show the world who T-Boss is. And in my own life, in my normal day-to-day life, I don’t like to wear clothes when I’m walking around in my house. I like to be free, here (pointing from her waist downwards), covered here (pointing upwards from her waist), what’s the point? Or I’ll just wear one small blouse. The Big Brother house was like my house at a point.

So, I would just be very very very free. I didn’t do it out of boredom. No, I was just being myself and walking around without clothes… I didn’t go to the kitchen, you know, because, then, that is like really seeking attention or go out into the garden or to the arena. No, I didn’t do that.

Those actions really created a buzz.
Everything creates a buzz. Even when I burb, it creates a buzz. People want to judge, people want to comment. And it’s fine, you know. Just don’t read too much into it.

A columnist, Reuben Abati, wrote a piece where he said you could have won, and were the most worthy to represent Big Brother Naija brand but you lost because of your arrogance. What’s your response to that?
I do not feel I’m an arrogant person. I’m sorry he has that opinion of me. I read the comments. My people actually were afraid that I would get emotional and sad about it. But I’m not. I was actually quite amused when I read his comments about the ‘mango’ part. It was actually quite comical.

Also during the show, some of the housemates described you as ‘manipulative’ and some commentators also used that word and called you a ‘white witch’.

I heard now… Oh, what do I have to say to that? I don’t know. (Asking another person) ‘Oga, was I manipulative?’ You (to the interviewer), do you think I was manipulative? Those were the comments of people

I don’t know. If they saw me like that, it’s sad. I’m not a manipulative person. And I’m definitely not a witch. Oh my God. And my bed is really not cursed.

Excitements as Efe emerges winner of BBNaija reality TV show

Excitement filled the air Sunday night as Efe emerged winner of the Big Brother Nigeria reality TV show which rounded off in South Africa.

Efe beat other finalists including Tboss, Debbie-Rise, Marvis and Bisola who came second to clinch the grand prize of N25 million and SUV automobile. The show kicked off with a show-stopping performance by 2face Idibia, who performed his new single titled “Holy Holy” and later his award winning , evergreen song, “Africa Queen.”
The host, Ebuka went straight into the evictions after 2face’s performance and announced that Marvis should leave the house with Debbie-Rise and TBoss leaving thereafter.
Tboss eviction was greeted with a lot of excitements among those who were against her in the house. But she ended up walking away with N500,000 ward-robes from the sponsors of the show, Payport, while One Campaign prize went to Bisola.
The glamorous finale was a star-studded affair, also featuring performances by Tiwa Savage and Emmy Gee.

CULTISM AMONGST NIGERIAN STUDENTS

Cultism Among Nigerian Students
Speaking on the issue of cultism among Nigerian students, President of National Association of Nigeria Students, NANS, Comrade Taiwo Bamigbade EGALITARIAN, listed the following reasons students join fraternities in school. According to him, students join cult group for so many reasons which include but not limited to : Peer group influence, poor parental upbringing; course curriculum in school which makes students less busy in school; oppression from lecturers and poor security system in and outside the campuses and poor institution management. Bamigbade added that cult and cult related activities are spreading like wild fire across Nigerian campuses and urgent steps need to be taken to stop this ugly trend.
His words, ” Curbing cultism on campuses requires a collective approach which ranges from parental efforts, higher institutions inputs and government. Parent should bring their children up in God-fearing ways. Also, management of institutions across Nigeria should enact strict punitive measures to discourage students from joining cult or other anti-social groups. Suspected cultists Mr Maxwell John from the Department of State Security Service, DSS Lagos Command spoke recently in Lagos at a Summit organised by the National Union of Lagos State Student NULASS tagged, ” Cultism and drug abuse among Nigerian Youth:A Threat to National Peace and National Security.”
The DDS representative defined cultism as any organisation that is kept away from the public whose activities can cause threat and dangers to the peace of the community. According to Mr John, the following can be traits that a youth belongs to a fraternity. When a youth become a heavy driver and smoker, moves in groups, has no definite home address, lives in constant fear, uses charm, suspicious dress sense and most times a fighter. For Chimobi, 300 level of Structural Engineering, University of Benin lamented that lack of principle and not peer pressure is the reason students join cult organisations in school.” For me lack of values and principles are the reasons majority of youths join fraternities. As you will know, before peer pressure there is principle, peer pressure may not influence one if we have the right people around us.”

Omoni Oboli devastated as court stops her movie premier over copyright infringement

Popular Nollywoood actress, Omoni Oboli, received a court injunction yesterday, March 24th preventing the premiere of her new film ‘Okafor’s Law’ and also the release on the 31st of March, in the case in which Omoni Oboli, Dioni Visions & Filmone Distribution are the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Defendants respectively.
Recall that in September 2016, Omoni Oboli was accused of copyright infringement for the ‘Okafor’s Law’ title she gave her movie, by a Canada based writer, Jude Idada. The nollywood actress was also accused of stealing his story and idea for her new movie “Okafor’s Law.”
Idada revealed this in an exclusive interview with TNS. He also stated that Oboli copied his idea for her directorial debut, “Being Mrs Elliott.”
However, the actress/producer maintained her silence and went on to promote and allegedly set a release date for the movie for March 31st with the premiere being yesterday, March 24th even after a demand letter was sent, and the matter was taken to court for the copyright infringement and trademark violation.
Omoni Oboli has however cancelled the premiere today, as she will be guilty of disregarding the order of the court and might be charged for contempt of court order.

QUEEN ESTHER CONFESSES ABOUT PLOT TO FRAM PASTOR SYLEIMANS TRUE CONFESSION

We had few bottles of drinks while he kept on making calls and was answering ok sir, yes sir and all of that. Around past 12:00 mid night, we drove in his car to one SEA-BREEZE HOTEL at BARNAWA GRA around Kaduna South. He introduced me to one Mr. Festus as his boss. I immediately fell in love with the man due to his handsomeness. The man then told me that I'm now a millionaire, and that he would take me along to see Governor E-Rufai whom he was to hold a meeting with that same night. He asked me where I came from, and I told him I'm from COTONOU; then he smiled at his boy who brought me. He then said to me that I'm the best person for the job; since I'm not a Nigerian. That they could easily settle me to return back and enjoy my wealth in COTONOU after the job is successfully done.

His boy who brought me eventually excused us, and Mr. Festus asked me for the same Blow-job; which I also gave him so hard. He was happy with me. Then, around 2:00 mid night, we drove to see Governor El-Rufai. We met him in one beautiful house. The Governor said I will become very rich if I help him bring down one of his enemies in this country. I agreed to do it. He then said that Mr. Festus will coach me on what to do. He handed me #100,000. (One hundred thousand naira) and we left back to SEA-BREEZE HOTEL.

Mr. Festus and his boy told me that the job is for me to claim that I am a sexual mistress to one Pastor Suleiman who was a Muslim before, but now a Pastor. I agreed; but when they said I will appear on Television to say it, I refused. Reason being that my parents and family members are not aware that I'm into prostitution in Nigeria. They believe I'm living in Lagos and working as a House-Maid.

When Mr. Festus got angry that I had declined, he brought out a small gun and threatened to kill me if I failed to do the job. I started crying and begging them to let me go. He collected all the money on me that night and asked his boy to go and drop me. His boy started talking to me that if I don't agree to do the job, I should leave Nigeria, because the Governor will be angry with his boss and Festus will kill me.

He dropped me off and left. I later relocated to KABUSA VILLAGE in Abuja to continue my hustling for fear of being killed by those men. I got over that trauma and moved on with life after that terrifying experience. But over a week ago, my friend in the same hotel was showing me some things on her phone. When I saw the face of that man (Mr. Festus) I quickly remembered the experience and told my friend the story.

I also remembered that Mr. Festus told me about his girlfriend in Canada who had returned to Nigeria for the same job. He said the other girl would be firing from Lagos, while I will be doing my own there in Kaduna.

But one thing that stopped me from agreeing to do the job was that I was to appear on Television, and that would have exposed me to the whole world. I told him that if I do it, I will never have peace in my life. And that it will stop me from getting married later in the future. More so, I was not ready to go back to COTONOU. My friend showed me so many things happening on the internet through her phone. I now saw the picture of Apostle Johnson Suleiman, Mr. Festus Keyamo, Stephanie Otobo, and even Governor El-Rufai. That was how I remembered everything that happened about two months ago.

I told my friend the whole story and she revealed it to other girls in our hotel.

THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER: I'm the authentic Queen Esther that was to execute this job. The lady parading her self on media is hired to replace me. I just got to know that it is a Powerful man of God that they are trying to bring down. My friend even told me that the man of God (Apostle Johnson Suleiman) is a good man. That he can change my life forever. I don't know how journalist located me. May be my friend went and called you people that I'm here.

CONFESSION: These whole story on the internet about the man of God is a big lie. The man is innocent. I can say it boldly. Because I was afraid of doing the job, Festus used a gun to threaten me and collected my money that night. Now, they have gotten some people who have the mind to do such a thing. But this people will not know peace in their life for plotting to bring down a man of God who is good and kind to people.

I am ready to come out now and tell the world the whole truth. My friend is a Christian and I'm also a Christian. She has briefed me about some issues that happened between the man of God and Kaduna State Governor. I now understand why they want to bring him down.

God have mercy.
